Beverage Day

Why cant we have one holiday where there isnt any religious overtones

We need one holiday where you can just do nothing and feel good about it

You dont have to spend it with family

You dont have to buy gifts for anyone

You wouldnt have to decorate

Nothing just a holiday for the hoard (that would be everyone)

Here is my humble suggestion for an innocuous holiday

Beverage Day

You spend the day at home, in a park, or wherever with the beverage of your choice

Mine would be coffee

And the hero of my day is of course Juan Valdez (spelling?)

He and his flying burro bringing caf to all the good hard working boys and girls

He is a laid back yet slightly jumpy fellow

Who flies around the world in a single morning bringing hot steamy love in a mug to all

Of course the would also be Beverage Day Eve

This of course for me would be Guinness

Arthur Guinness who is sadly a rotting corpse but never the less his recipe for love in a bottle still lives on

If you too would like to celebrate beverage day and beverage day eve as national holidays please write you local City Councils and other elected state and federal officials and say

Gives us Beverage Day

In other news

The head ache in which I wrote earlier was sadly the warning signs of much greater discomfort and much to your chagrin I have been ill the last couple of days

Fear not I am well on the road to recovery and will be enjoying the rest of my time off by declaring everyday until christmas Beverage Day

However due to these unforeseeable circumstances I have had to forego the previously mentioned kidnapping and plans for all other public engagements

With the break in the health front more then apparent or merely hidden behind the effects of Dayquil

I will be honoring Beverage Day with morning and evening rituals beginning well now why put off what can be done today

So enjoy your own person Beverage of choice -- I will
